SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES

HEALTHY LIVING

The harm that poor health can cause isn’t just limited to us as individuals. Your health can actually have a serious impact on your community’s well-being, too.

New research on community health and disease transmission is starting to reveal just how intertwined individual and community wellness are. When you get sick, it spreads far beyond you. Everyone around you can feel the effects, and in more ways than you may expect.

HOUSING NEEDS

The U.S. now faces a shortage of 6.8 million rental homes affordable and available to extremely low-income renters whose household incomes are at or below 30 percent of their area’s median income, according to a National Low-Income Housing Coalition analysis.

The experts that MHN reached out to have similar views on what’s to come. They all agree demand will continue to outpace supply in 2022 and beyond, and on the development side, they expect an increased focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

EDUCATION

Education is one of the most important things in life. It opens up doors to opportunities that wouldn’t be available otherwise. It allows people to learn new things, and it helps them become more knowledgeable and well-rounded individuals. Therefore, people should invest in education.

Educated people understand how valuable it is to live in a stable and secure community. They are more prone to taking part in projects that help improve not only their neighborhood but society, as well. In addition, when people are able to afford their own home, they are more likely to take part not only in improving their homes but in solving local problems, as well. After all, it is quite important to get involved and give a hand to the less fortunate ones in order to build a better place for all of us to live in.
